Chickens are a core gameplay feature in Realm Royale. No, really.
When a player loses all their hitpoints, they are turned into chickens. Downed players will automatically revive from chicken status after 30 seconds. Each player can turn into a chicken up to 3 times, and turning into a chicken for a fourth time will cause the player to die. Chickens have 700 Health, and if a player is defeated again while as a chicken they will die. Defeated players will leave all the items they had on the floor around their death point.
